Situated amongst a tree-lined 360 acre Estate between Alvor and Portimao, this classy resort offers plenty of amenities including 4 upmarket restaurants, 2 bars, 3 golf courses, tennis courts, a spa with saunas, along with an outdoor pool and a fitness room. If you're looking to go a bit further afield for some entertainment, it’s only a short taxi journey into Alvor or Lagos.
The rooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, mini fridges and tea and coffee makers. Some rooms have balconies with mountain views. Upgrade to a suite to add separate living areas, some of which offer golf course views. Parking and a breakfast buffet are included.
The 3 golf courses were designed by Sir Henry Cotton including the Championship Course which carries his name. The Resort and Academy Course are both 9 holes and can be enjoyed by hotel guests all year round at no extra cost.
Boavista has stunning views over the Bay of Lagos and also inland to the Monchique Mountains. Once you reach the turn you get the best views and can enjoy the halfway house.
Palmares Golf Course is ranked 26th in the Top 100 Courses in Europe, and it's easy to see why. The course boasts undulated fairways through Atlantic Coast dunes and stunning views of the Ocean.
Built in the grounds of the Penina Hotel, the Penina Championship Golf Course was the first course on the Algarve, opening for play in 1966.
The Resort Course is a good test of ability, and is not as busy or challenging as the Championship course.
